Presidian Hospitality is working with the American Cancer Society and Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas to build the very first Hope Lodge of San Antonio.
American Cancer Society Hope Lodge communities across the country provide a free home away from home during treatment so people with cancer can focus on getting better. These communities provide comfortable guest suites with private baths, as well as inviting spaces with all the comforts of home, including a communal kitchen, dining area, laundry rooms, and places to gather or find a quiet respite - all at no cost to the guests.
Presidian's flagship property, Estancia del Norte, is proud to be a partner in bringing Hope to San Antonio. The hotel's nonprofit initiative, Estancia Cares, will match all donations made by guests and the community - all profits going directly to Hope Lodge SA!
Presidian Cares and Presidian Hospitality are fully committed to the success and building of Hope Lodge SA. The American Cancer Society's capital campaign is being led by our very own Charles Leddy to raise funds for construction, operating costs, and to ensure the sustainability of the facility for years to come.
"The cancer treatment centers at the San Antonio Medical Center serve over 20,000 cancer patients in South Texas annually. Roughly 10,000 of those patients have to travel over 40 miles for treatment and the majority of those patients have to come to San Antonio over 30 times for treatments and trials. The cost of travel and lodging is a huge barrier for these individuals to get the care that they desperately need.
We are honored to be working with Methodist Healthcare Ministries and the American Cancer Society to build and operate a Hope Lodge in San Antonio. Our Hope Lodge San Antonio will provide free lodging to cancer patients, as well as an on-site pharmacy, communal kitchens, and a variety of carefully designed areas for restoration, wellness, and engagement.
