Susan Verdon Schulze has a rare genetic cancer that put an inoperable tumor in her neck that is attached to her swallowing nerve. She has had issues swallowing ever since, and it also causes her body to create an excessive amount of dopamine.
About nine years ago she had radiation on her neck and head that arrested the tumor's growth (the radiation also collapsed her inner ear and ear drum which never healed properly), but it recently spread to her spine (where she now has 4 tumors) in November of 2021 causing a lot of pain and discomfort. All the tumors secrete dopamine, and the original tumor has also gotten bigger and more dangerous to her health. This has led to more radiation treatments and infusions.
More Cancer treatments are likely forthcoming, and she has surgery scheduled this month to fix her damaged inner ear and ear drum. She is one of the strongest women I have ever met in person, but she is fighting this fight and with your thoughts and prayers, will kick cancer’s butt.
