The First Annual Pink Shuffle on the Hillside, The Next Generation, Breast Cancer Walk
Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Conant Park, Hillside NJ

This event brings: The Hillside Board of Education with its mission of providing all students the knowledge and skills needed to be successful and engaged citizens that contribute to the vitality of an ever-changing world through rigorous academic and culturally responsive instructional and student support programs that strengthens character, cultivates innovation, and fosters leadership;

Incorporated in 1913, The Township of Hillside has a long history of servicing a strong diverse population of residents. Hillside takes tremendous pride in our ability to maintain a quiet setting, an important characteristic of a suburban community, while conveniently located next to major urban municipalities. Thereby making it a wonderful place to live and work;

Celia Fernandez, a breast cancer survivor, is an owner-operator at Prestige Auto-Wash along with her brother Frank, sister-in-law Marilyn, Father Francisco and husband Lou. Prestige has four car wash locations and one Quick-Lube center locally.

Supporting breast cancer awareness has been Celia’s main objective since being diagnosed back in 2007. With the support of family, friends, and the American Cancer Society, she made it through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. This October will be her 14th year as a survivor and one of the top fund raisers for the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer. Celia has been inspired by all of the students at the Hillside Public School and believes they are our next generation as catalysts in bringing breast cancer awareness to the forefront.

Please join Celia, along with the students at the Hillside Board of Education and the Township of Hillside Council on Sunday October 3rd, in making this First Annual Pink Shuffle on the Hillside The Next Generation, a huge success. Bring your family and friends; form a team and show your PINK colors while walking and dancing to the Cupid Shuffle. There is no cost to join.
