Barbara Pritchard

Barbara H. Pritchard of Doylestown, Pennsylvania went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.   She was the loving husband of Albert W. Pritchard who predeceased her in 2019.  Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen Huffman.

Barbara loved spending time with her family, her church, her high school sorority, and her neighborhood friends.  She believed it was important to give back to the community throughout her life as a member at Calvary Presbyterian Church for over 40 years through teaching Sunday School and participating on numerous committees and by volunteering at the Michener Art Museum as a docent.  Her life centered on her faith in God and her commitment to following her faith in all aspects of her life.  

Christmas was important to Barbara and in the late 1970’s she started and lead the luminary lights in her neighborhood in Doylestown on Christmas Eve.  It spread over numerous neighborhoods in Doylestown and still continues today!  But it wasn’t about the bags or the candles, it was about the peace of it and taking the time to remember the true meaning of Christmas in her dear Savior’s birth.

Barbara also loved to travel with her husband, especially to Cape May and Palm Island, Florida.  She loved to take walks with her dogs, play at the beach and watch the sunsets as much as possible.  She also liked to garden, read her Bible, and spend time with her grandchildren.  Her favorite trip though was to Alaska where she loved to talk about God’s magnificent creation in nature.  

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn Pritchard & Theresa Blanco and Robert & Anne Pritchard.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Caroline and Jonathan Pritchard and Ashley and Joshua Pritchard.  

A private family service is planned to be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deacons Fund at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 405 N Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090 or the American Cancer Society.
